Itinerary

Trek Schedule: 

Day 1:  : Arrive at Manikaran (Kasol) by 8.00 am and arrive Barshani at 9:30 am. Start trek to Kheer Ganga. The total trek length is 11 KM and it will take 4-5 hrs to reach Kheer Ganga. Khir Ganga is alpine pasture. After reaching the destination delicious snacks will be served with hot Tea. In the evening sunset will provide a magical view. Overnight stay in camp.

Day 2:  Explore Kheer Ganga. Kheer ganga is the part of Pir Panjal range, from khir ganga one can get a terrific view of the Himalayan rocky ranges. There is also a hot water spring where one can relax and bath. And after healthy breakfast trek back to Barshani(11K.m.) then return back to Manikaran.

Things To Pack:-

  • Trekking Shoes: You need good trekking shoes with good grip & ankle support. Do not carry sport shoes.
  • Clothing: You need to have warm clothes with three-layer jackets, fleece or down feather jacket. Carry 1 or 2 full sleeves t-shirt. For lowers carry cotton pants suitable for trek. Do no carry jeans or shorts for trekking.
  • Thermals: Carry top and bottom thermals.
  • Socks: Carry 2 - 3 pair of sports socks along with woolen socks to be worn at night.
  • Headlamp/Led Torch are mandatory
  • Sunglasses: To protect from sunlight in snow you require UV rays protected sunglasses.
  • Woolen Cap and Gloves are also necessary as the climate will be cold. Carry waterproof gloves as they get wet in snow.
  • Lunchbox & Water bottle: Every participant should carry lunch box and water bottle of their own.
  • Raincoat/Ponchos: At high altitudes, snowfall and rain are quite common and it’s mandatory to carry a poncho so that one doesn’t get wet.

Kheer Ganga trek is a popular hot spring site located in the Parvati valley of Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh.
The trek is done almost in all seasons. It starts from the month of April to December. The trek can be done in January and February but it depends on the weather conditions.

Yes anyone with little physical fitness can do this trek. It is a short weekend trek approached from the last road head at Barshaini. It is a 2-3 days trek, perfect for the neophytes.
As this trek is moderate and easy graded trek, it just needs a person to be fit. Doing regular exercises will be appropriate to conquer the route. The last patch of the trek is a bit steep but aside of it whole trail is fulfilling with few ups and downs.
The weather is ideal on this trek with no much cold nights in the summers. The temperature rises 15-20 degrees in day time and at night dropping not below than 0 degrees. But these temperature conditions will vary in the winter plunging down to -10 degrees.
For every trek you should have done precise packing of things needed later on the trek. Incorrect things of packing would make you suffer during the trek with unnecessary load and hardship. So here are some of the prerequisite things to be considered as one’s requirements. Backpack(40ltrs), Down feather jacket(1), Fleece uppers(2), woolen sweater (1), Dry fit shirts(2), dry fit trousers(2), warm lower(1), thermals(1), woolen socks(1pair), socks(2pairs), balaclava(1), gloves (1pair), Ponchu(1), waterproof Bag cover, Underwear(2), Sunglasses UV protected, trekking pole.
The shoes with high ankle support and with good gripping sole could be the best option for the trek. Always remind to buy shoes few days’ earlier beginning of a trek. Because using it earlier will make shoes fit to your feet, though you won’t get blisters or sores on your foot while on the trek.
It depends on the things what you are carrying. But the weight will be around 10-15 kg.
Vegetarian food with egg is served during the trek. Vegetarian food is good to digest at heights and is nutritious. You will have healthy breakfast, lunch, evening tea snacks, soup and dinner. Yes you have to carry a lunch box so you can have packed lunch.
We will trek 5-7 km each day and it will take about 3-4 hours to reach campsite.
Yes, there will be sustainable eco friendly toilets with deep pit inside to do your business and a mound of soil to cover the waste. Always remember to use tissue papers as this material is degradable. Avoid using wet wipes.
You can take some basic medicines along it will help avoid any kind of sickness at heights. It is good to put medications in your prime list of things while packing which will be useful in the wilderness where one couldn’t find any medic. Here is a list of medicines you can opt to your requirements- Crepe bandage, Band aid, cotton, ORS, volini spray, disprin, avomine, combiflam, paracitamol, digene, anti-diarrhea tablets, betadine, sunscreen SPF30, lip balm etc. Yes, medical certificate is mandatory for every trekker. Medical form should be certified by a recognized doctor claiming that you are fit to do trek. If in case you have any health related prior illnesses, you should consult the doctor and carry all necessary medications.
Our professional certified guide/instructors will lead the group who are mostly inhabitants. They hold enough experience to deal any circumstance occurred while trekking. Our team will be along all the time escorting the group until the trek is accomplished.
If you don’t want to carry your backpack you can relieve your sack to a porter or a mule. For off loading your backpack you have to tell us 10 days before the trek. We will arrange accordingly a porter/mule which will cost 1000/- each day with the backpacks weight not exceeding 12kg.
You will get drinking water from the clean Himalayan streams. One can fill and drink water inevitably. If still unsure about drinking water you can carry chlorine tablets along. But we recommend you to drink water directly from the streams.
We have tents of different capacity, 3men 4men tents. We will accommodate you with sufficient space and vestibule as per the requirements of the group. There will be 2 persons in a 3men tent and 3 persons in a 4 men tent.
Absolutely yes, we had organized and managed groups successfully mixed of men and women from years. We ensure the safety and the integrity of the female trekkers utmost. We provide female participants tents only sharing with other female. If there is a single girl trekking, then we provide her a personal tent. After all the mountains is safer place then traveling through the city.

Yes you can make calls if you are BSNL consumer, other networks work inconsistently. So if you don’t have BSNL network make your all urgent calls before leaving for the trek.
In any case of any emergency our staff is skilled and trained for such situations held at high altitude. Our team has a wealth of experience dealing with high altitude sicknesses and urgent situations. We carry first aid kit and oxygen cylinders with us and in any emergency we rescue the trekker till the road head. After reaching road any additional cost of evacuation is borne by the trekker. All and all it is trekker’s responsibility to get a certified medical fitness document before coming for the trek, which certifies that the trekker is fit for the trek.
No, drinking alcohol/smoking is strictly prohibited during the trek.
No, we have certified instructors who have wealth of experience working in the hinterland and ample knowledge of giving wilderness first aid. We carry all the necessary medications, portal oxygen, oxymeter to refrain any distress to the group members.
